A history of service

For nearly 80 years, Southeast Missouri Hospital has helped shape the direction of health care in this region. Located in the heart of Cape Girardeau overlooking beautiful Capaha Park, the main campus of Southeast encompasses several city blocks, but there are also numerous offsite facilities.

Recognized as one of Missouri's leading health care providers, Southeast has evolved into a 269-bed medical center that annually serves more than 110,000 inpatients and outpatients from throughout Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois and the region.

Magnet Nursing Award

Our nurses have also earned the prestigious national Magnet recognition award. Magnet designated facilities consistently outperform non-magnet organizations in delivering better patient outcomes, shorter lengths of stay, lower mortality rates and increased patient satisfaction rates.
